If there’s one thing I’ve learned since diving into the world of peptides and immune health, it’s that prevention is everything, and Thymosin Alpha-1 (TA1) has become one of my favorite tools in that toolbox. Whether I’m traveling and want to protect myself from plane germs or I’ve already caught something and need help recovering faster, TA1 has been a game-changer for my personal health routine.

In hindsight, I really wish I’d known about this peptide back in 2020 during my battle with COVID-19. After learning what I know now, it could’ve made a huge difference in both prevention and recovery. So today, I’m sharing a deep dive into everything you need to know about Thymosin Alpha-1… from what it is, how it works, its benefits, risks, and who might want to consider using it.

Let’s explore why this immune-modulating peptide is gaining so much attention in the world of functional medicine and longevity.

What Is Thymosin Alpha-1?

Thymosin Alpha-1 (TA1) is a naturally occurring peptide fragment derived from a larger protein called prothymosin alpha, which is produced by the thymus gland, a key player in your immune system. This peptide, which is only 28 amino acids long, carries powerful immune-regulating properties.

Initially isolated in the 1970s, it’s now synthetically produced and widely studied for its ability to modulate immune response, fight infections, and even support cancer therapy. TA1 has been used as an adjunctive therapy in over 30 countries, with a long track record of safety and efficacy.

How Thymosin Alpha-1 Works

How to Use Thymosin Alpha-1: Dosage and Protocol

TA1 is typically administered via subcutaneous injection similar to how people with diabetes inject insulin. Some providers offer it in pre-filled syringes or vials for self-injection at home.

Typical Dosage:

  • Preventative/Wellness Use: 1.5 mg 2–3 times per week
  • Active Infection or Immune Support: 1.5–3 mg daily for 5–20 days

How to Store It
