North Metro Atlanta Fireworks Celebration 2025

Atlanta, Georgia, offers an array of family-friendly events to celebrate Independence Day. From spectacular fireworks to engaging parades and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a guide to the top seven activities for families during the July 4th weekend in the Atlanta area.

1. Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain Park

Stone Mountain Park’s “Fantastic Fourth Celebration is a must-see event, running from July 1 to July 7, 2025. Voted the “Best Place to see Fireworks in Atlanta” by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers, this event features a mesmerizing drone and light show followed by a patriotic fireworks finale each night at 9:30 PM. Families can enjoy a day full of adventure with attractions like hiking the one-mile trail to the top of Stone Mountain, exploring wooded trails, and relaxing in nature. Tickets are required for the light show and fireworks, and early entry by 5 PM is highly recommended due to limited space.

2. Coca-Cola July 4th Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia

From July 2 to 4, Six Flags Over Georgia hosts the Coca-Cola July 4th Fest, offering thrilling rides, live music, and a spectacular fireworks display each evening. Moreover, the VIP fireworks event features an all-you-can-eat buffet and specialty drinks like the “Patriotic Punch.”

3. Marietta’s 4th in the Park Celebration

Marietta Square transforms into a hub of patriotic festivities on July 4. The day kicks off with a parade at 10 AM, followed by an arts and crafts show, live music, food vendors, carnival games, and museum tours. The celebration culminates with a dazzling fireworks display after dark, offering a full day of family-friendly entertainment.

4. Star-Spangled Beach Party at Callaway Gardens

Located just over an hour from Atlanta, Callaway Gardens hosts its Star-Spangled Beach Party on July 4th. Families can enjoy beach activities on Robin Lake Beach, including volleyball, paddle-boarding, and an obstacle course. Plus, end the night with a beach concert and fireworks display.

5. Salute to America in Kennesaw

On July 3, the City of Kennesaw hosts its annual Salute to America celebration from 6 to 10 PM. This pre-Independence Day event features two stages of live music, street entertainment, food vendors, and engaging activities for children. The evening concludes with a fireworks display at 9:30 PM, viewable from Adams Park, Depot Park, or Main Street.

6. Rent a Boat on Lake Allatoona for a Family Adventure

For a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle, consider spending a day on Lake Allatoona, located approximately 40 minutes northwest of Atlanta. This 12,000-acre lake offers 270 miles of shoreline, making it an ideal spot for family-friendly boating adventures.

Paradise Rental Boats at Park Marina is the largest boat rental facility on Lake Allatoona, offering a diverse fleet that includes pontoons, deck boats, and even double-decker yachts with slides. Whether you’re interested in fishing, swimming, or simply cruising, they have options to suit your family’s needs.

Holiday Harbor Boat Rentals offers a range of pontoon boats accommodating groups of various sizes, perfect for a relaxing day on the water.

If you’re seeking a more personalized experience then, platforms like GetMyBoat and Boatsetter offer peer-to-peer rentals, including luxury pontoons and boats with captains for hire.

Remember to book your rental in advance, especially for the July 4th weekend, as demand is expected to be high. Additionally, ensure compliance with Georgia boating regulations, such as the requirement for children to wear life jackets and the need for operators born after January 1, 1998, to hold a boating license.

7. Enjoy a Lake Day at Dallas Landing Park in Acworth

the big slide at Dallas Landing

For families seeking a fun-filled lake day without the need for a boat, Dallas Landing Park in Acworth is an excellent choice. Situated on the shores of Lake Allatoona, this 82-acre park offers a variety of amenities perfect for a July 4th weekend outing.

Key Features:

  • Beach Access: Relax on the sandy beach and take a refreshing swim in Lake Allatoona. Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty, so supervision of children is essential.
  • Picnic Areas: The park features picnic tables and grills, making it an ideal spot for a family cookout. There’s also a group pavilion available for rental, accommodating up to 50 people.
  • Recreational Facilities: Engage in a friendly game of volleyball or horseshoes at the designated courts.
  • Inflatable Water Slide: Experience the thrill of the “World’s Largest Inflatable Water Slide,” standing 36 feet tall and stretching 175 feet in length. It’s a hit among both kids and adults.

Visitor Information:

  • Location: 5120 Allatoona Drive, Acworth, GA 30101
  • Hours: Open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Parking Fee: $5 to $15.00 per vehicle for non-Acworth residents; free for Acworth residents (Cobb county). Price varies based on weekday/weekend or holiday.
  • Slide Admission: $3 for one slide; $20 for unlimited slides per day.

Spending a day on Lake Allatoona offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, creating lasting memories for the whole family.
